Our Team

DEREK OPDAHL, CPA PARTNER

As one of the key managing partners of Opdahl & Rachmanony, LLP, Derek Opdahl has over 20 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant. The majority of Derek’s clients stem from but not limited to the apparel, jewelry, construction, security, retail, air conditioning, refrigeration, restaurant, real estate, and other service industries.

His specializations are wide and can range from attestation to taxation. Yet to highlight a few, he places great care on providing excellent tax work especially to individuals and corporations. Derek’s attention to detail when it comes to audits, review and compilation are second to none. And he does take great joy in providing financial benchmarks, projections or cash flow analysis to ensure that all clients walk away with a positive experience.

In addition to the practice, Derek serves as the treasurer of “Southwest Crude Corp.” and president of “Woodland Hills Oil & Gas, LLC.” He earned his Bachelor of Science from California State University, Northridge. When he is not working, he enjoys a round of golf, skiing and cross country races throughout Southern California.

He is a member to California Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

ALEXANDER RACHMANONY, CPA PARTNER

For more than 30 years, Alex has served clients in a wide range of industries, including the apparel, jewelry, vitamins and supplements, consumer electronics, furniture, real estate, and retail industries. He provides his clients full-service consultation, including financial reporting for audits, reviews, compilations, obtaining financing, financial benchmarking, profitability studies and reconciliations, financial forecasting and projecting, tax planning and compliance, and tax audit representation.

Alex has served as past president of Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel, and as Treasurer of West LA Little League. Alex enjoys working on his 1972 Jensen Healey, and building star wars themed Lego sets.

MARK NADEL, CPA

For years, Mark has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. Mark's expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as trust and estate tax preparation, financial consulting, business management, and wealth planning.

SUSAN AVENDANO, CPA

Susan has been helping small companies with their bookkeeping and tax preparation for over 30 years. Susan provides her clients with bookkeeping and write-up, tax projection and preparation services, Quickbooks accounting help and assistance and tax audit representation. She works with clients in various professions, including medical, dental, consulting, and construction.

LINDSAY JAMBE, ENROLLED AGENT

Lindsay is a skilled accountant with over ten years of experience and has been preparing tax returns since 2015. Lindsay’s experience in bookkeeping, individual tax return preparation and payroll covers many industries, including real estate, health services, construction and entertainment. Lindsay assists clients with bookkeeping in Quicken and Quickbooks, financial reports, tax projections, audit representation and more.

ALLEN MEDENILLA, STAFF ACCOUNTANT

With over 10 years in accounting and bookkeeping experience, Allen services our clients with his vast knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Lacerte tax software. In addition, he provides assistance including and not limited to financial audits, reviews, compilations, individual and corporate tax returns.

Outside of the office, Allen enjoys playing tennis, reading sci-fi/fantasy books and spending time with his family.

CARRIE SCHNEIDER, BOOKKEEPER

Carrie has worked in the accounting field for over five years and provides bookkeeping services using Quicken and QuickBooks, prepares 1099s, Statements of Information and Sales Tax Returns, among other services. Before switching to accounting, Carrie earned a B.A. in Anthropology from UC Davis, and had an internship in zooarchaeology at Tel Aviv University. She is currently taking accounting and business courses through UCLA Extension.

Carrie enjoys watching anime and is an avid keychain collector.

SAMANTHA KRAPFF, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

For the past 6 years Samantha has been working hard to earn her Bachelors in Business and Finance from California State University, Channel Islands. Before joining our team, Samantha was paying for her education by helping run retail stores such as GameStop and BoxLunch as an Assistant Store Manager. Now with being a part of the OR LLP team, Samantha is gaining hands on experience related to her education in hopes to be well prepared to become a Certified Public Accountant after graduation.

TRAVIS ELLEDGE, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Travis Elledge is an Administrative Assistant that is just starting in the Accounting field after working in the restaurant industry for 6 years. Travis is currently working on his degree in Economics and plans to move on to get his MBA in Economics. Outside of work Travis loves watching and playing sports, mostly basketball.
